Red Mountains

The landscape resists a single reading.  Color exists in separation — bands of red, ochre, and mineral deposit, shifting under changing light. As the light moves, the surface appears to flatten and deepen at once. The outline is difficult to fix.


Edges are present but do not hold. What seems defined at one moment softens at another. The image cannot be resolved into a single form.
Nothing has been altered. The conditions are recorded as they were.
