Accessibility Statement

Effective April 2, 2026

Our Commitment

SURDAM is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, regardless of ability or technology. We believe that every visitor deserves an equitable and seamless experience when engaging with our brands, collections, and content.

Standards

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, consistent with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These guidelines provide a framework for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.

Measures

To support accessibility across our platform, we implement the following measures:

  • Semantic HTML elements including nav, main, footer, section, and heading hierarchy to provide meaningful document structure
  • ARIA labels and landmarks on all navigation, dialogs, drawers, and interactive controls for assistive technology compatibility
  • Keyboard navigation support including skip-to-content link, Escape key to close all overlays and drawers, and visible focus indicators on interactive elements
  • Color contrast ratios designed to meet WCAG AA requirements for text and interactive elements across all page themes
  • Screen reader support through alt text on images, labeled form inputs, and live regions for dynamic content updates such as cart feedback and notification messages
  • Responsive design with breakpoints at 480px, 768px, and 1024px, touch-friendly target sizes, and adaptive layouts for all screen sizes

Known Limitations

We are continuously improving our accessibility practices. While we make every effort to ensure our content meets established standards, we are aware of the following areas for ongoing improvement:

  • Third-party content including the Shopify checkout, payment providers, and embedded media may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We work with our partners to address these gaps.
  • Focus trapping within modal dialogs is not yet fully implemented. Users may need to use Escape to close overlays rather than Tab navigation alone.

Feedback

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the SURDAM website. If you encounter any barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us at accessibility@surdam.us or help@surdam.us. We take every report seriously and are committed to resolving issues promptly.
