INSIDE THE ATELIER: CASHMERE CONSTRUCTION

Every E. SURDAM knit begins with a single fibre — Mongolian cashmere, combed by hand from the underbelly of Hircus goats during the spring moult. The raw material arrives at our partner mill in Biella, where it is sorted by grade, colour, and length.

The construction process is deliberately slow. Each piece is fully-fashioned — shaped on the machine rather than cut from a flat panel. This eliminates waste and produces a garment that follows the body's natural contour without stretch or distortion.

The finishing is where craft meets patience. Every garment is hand-linked at the seams, washed in soft water, and dried flat for 48 hours. The result is a fabric that improves with every wear — softer, more personal, entirely yours.
